Poem: Movement

Foot loose and fancy free
Shufflin’ down the road with greatest of ease
Stretches of gray pavement interspersed with piles of fall leaves
Blue sky canopy hanging over me

Blackish-green mountains hulking on the horizon
Farm land mansions showing off XXL sizes
River folks competing to outchomp Mike Tyson
Cool air in the ‘burban plains minus the bisons

Peed on my right runner on the roadside
While ensuring passing SUVs wouldn’t spot my Mr Clyde
Plodding along carefully to save my hide
Thankful the rain today decided to hide inside

The freedom of movement on a Sunday afternoon
Avoiding gangsters and their drive-thru shooting goons
Could’ve bussed it if I had one more loon
But the exercise is worth it when October’s like a ten degree June
