Poem: Sure Thing

Glimpses of glory
Hints of achievement
Hopes of better things
Expecting completion

Striving for improvement
Building better than ever
Avoiding disappointment
Surviving any kind of weather

Boots on the road
Head up high
Hand to the plough
Never say die

No looking back
Pushing on ahead
Crucifying the inner zombie
Before contagion has spread

Always like the bounty hunter
Targeting their wanted prey
Between short sleeps and catnaps
Chasing every instant, night and day

Life may never be a sure thing
You know, that’s fine by me
But my goal’s to make it surer than before
Working unceasingly
To the best of my ability
