Poem: Ghosts ‘R Us

Ghost town, ghosts ‘r us
What’s the fuss
Over a little virus?

The Malthusian goats are
Happy at the culling
But rich and poor alike
Are targets of the
Pop chart dulling

Heeding scientists
Blaming communists
Volumes of posts
Result from
Home-bound troats

Keyboard clacking
Schedules slacking
Bodies flapping
Anxieties ramping

Ghost town, ghosts ‘r us
What’s the fuss
Over a little virus?

Old neighbours at risk
Home deliveries to the Mrs
Common room shuttered
Schools about to be gutted

Albeit I remain calm
Calming kin and connections
Solving mysteries
As I log
Nordic noir viewing histories

Knee slapping
Tear jerking
Crisis surfing
Foot’s not tapping

Ghost town, ghosts ‘r us
What’s the fuss
Over a little virus?

Fuss is merited
In the face of an invisible foe
Wartime efforts
Go go go
